Lunar Calendar 2021

The year 2020 was a difficult year for the world. We, as a collective, were challenged and pushed to our limits, although we seem to have pushed on, it came at a great price; people all over the world suffered in unimaginable ways. As a creative, it was a year full of doubt and a constant sense of dread.

At the end of the year, after having spent a year being completely isolated from what life used to be, I was looking for a way to get back to being able to create work that brought my joy. This project was exactly that, something I could do to keep from focusing and obsessing over the events unfolding around me.

After some initial research about lunar cycles and the ways in which they are graphically represented, the result was a simple black and white lunar calendar for 2021 to represent the ebb and flow of nature and hope for the new year.
